BJJ Training

From a young age, I embarked on a journey in the world of combat sports. Wrestling became my passion at the tender age of 5, leading to 4 Michigan State freestyle wrestling championships and a National championship. After high school, I transitioned to the US Army, where I went on to clinch victory at the All US Army European Championships.

My journey took an unexpected, but obvious, turn when I discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). This martial art not only honed my physical prowess but also provided me with a sense of inner peace. Over 28 years in BJJ, I proudly earned seven NAGA World titles, a Pan American BJJ title (Brown Belt), and a notable 2nd place in the Master World No-Gi Championships (Brown Belt level).

In addition to these personal achievements, my journey in martial arts has been profoundly shaped by training with some of the world's finest practitioners. I've had the privilege of learning and becoming friends legends such as Master Hélio Gracie, Legend Royce Gracie and Master Carlson Gracie, whose wisdom and expertise have left an indelible mark on my approach to combat sports.

In addition to these luminaries, I've trained with champions such as  Rolyer Gracie, Marcelo Garcia, Romero Cavalcanti, and Saulo Ribeiro whose insights have deepened my understanding of the craft. One of my most cherished connections in the world of martial arts is my enduring friendship with Robson Moura, a true master of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, whose mentorship and camaraderie continue to inspire me to this day.

My journey is a testament to the power of learning from the best and continuously striving for excellence in the martial arts world. Moreover, I founded a BJJ academy in 1998, starting from scratch and building it into a powerhouse gym in the Midwest with over 200 students, earning numerous team titles along the way.

Known for my fierce and unwavering determination
In competition, I earned the “Nickname” Ferabrab by Master Carlson Gracie Jr.

My true passion is making the lasting connections with people on their journey to find their peace.  The most peace I feel is when I see a young kid smile with pride after finally completing a task they once thought impossible.
